About Us

The Office of Alumni Affairs serves as the institutional bridge between IIT Kharagpur and its alumni across the world. We work to nurture a lifelong relationship between the Institute and the KGPian community by creating opportunities for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater, engage with students and faculty, support institutional priorities, and contribute to IIT Kharagpur’s continued growth.

Our activities span four principal areas: alumni outreach, alumni engagement, alumni services, and alumni giving. Through reunions, homecomings, chapter activities, Foundation Day celebrations, publications, digital platforms, and networking initiatives, we help alumni remain informed and connected with the Institute and with one another.

We also create meaningful avenues for alumni to share their knowledge and experience. Alumni can mentor students, deliver guest lectures and technology talks, support internships, engage with student entrepreneurs, facilitate industry and academic collaborations, and help the Institute connect with prospective faculty and global institutions

The generosity of our alumni has contributed significantly to the development of IIT Kharagpur. Alumni support has enabled scholarships, student awards, international internships, faculty awards, Chair Professorships, Centres of Excellence, academic programmes, student facilities, Hall improvements, and other infrastructure and institutional-development projects. Every contribution, whether through time, expertise, professional networks, or philanthropy, strengthens the Institute and expands opportunities for its students and faculty.

The Office also supports alumni through recognition programmes, networking opportunities, reunions, alumni identity and communication services, transcript-related assistance, publications, and access to relevant Institute information.

This website is designed as a one-stop platform for the IIT Kharagpur alumni community. It brings together news, events, services, engagement opportunities, alumni achievements, and information on ways to contribute to the Institute.

We invite every KGPian to stay connected, participate actively, and continue to be part of IIT Kharagpur’s journey.
