Nirmal Kumar Bhardwaj [1981/BTech/AG/RP]
For his outstanding contributions, dedication and service, over the past 14 years, Mr Nirmal Kumar Bhardwaj has contributed immensely in furtherance and strengthening the international stature of his Alma Mater. He has organised an international event in Bangalore to celebrate 50 years of IIT Kharagpur in 2003. Event titled IIT50 was dedicated to the Role of IITs in Nation Building, and thereby, established the role of IIT Kharagpur as mother of all IITs. PanIIT is offshoot of this event, and Mr Bhardwaj is one of the founders of PanIIT India.
In 2006, he again organised a global event in Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru, to showcase Confluence of Technology, Management and Life Sciences to highlight Institute’s pioneering and disruptive achievements .He has been president of the TAA, Bengaluru and instrumentalin unifying the alumni across India. He is the founding Vice President of IIT Kharagpur Alumni Foundation India and has mobilised funds for the same. Presently, as Executive Council Member of the Alumni Foundation India, he continues to make strategic and crucial contributions in the process of Institution Building. This year, he is playing a very vital role in organising International Conference -Emerging Technologies in Agri and Food Engg(ETAE 2006). He has brought on board NABARD as one of the sponsors of the conference which will open up doors for further collaborations at national level.
He is supporting the Entrepreneurship Cell of the Institute by connecting start-ups with stake holders and investors. He is fully aligned with the vision of the Institution.
