IIT Kharagpur celebrates its 65th Foundation Day inspiring the foundation of nexgen leaders

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur celebrated its 65th Foundation Day on August 18, 2015. The Chief Guest of the programme Dr. S. Christopher has been honoured with the Distinguished Alumnus Award on this day.

 

Dr. S. Christopher is currently the Director General and a Distinguished Scientist at the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). He had served Bengaluru-based Centre for Airbourne System (CABS) as Director and was the key scientist for manufacture of India’s first indigenous Airborne Early Warning & Control System (AEW&C) system. He led a team to create the Automated Planar Near Field Measurement Facility at Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) for the first time in the country. Dr. Christopher also worked for the Indian Navy as Project Director for Airborne Surveillance Platform (ASP) project and for development of the Maritime Patrol Airborne Radar, SuperVision 2000.
