IIT-KGP has always been the source of enlightenment and inspiration to thousands of youth for more than six decades. It was the dream of independent India to take the quality of its higher education to world class standard and IIT-KGP has successfully achieved it. However, in this new era, the challenge is bigger. With more institutions including IITs coming up, need for greater professionalism at every stage of management and innovations driven research has become very important in educational institutions.

The utilisation of the endowment fund will be controlled by the members of IIT KGP Endowment Committee consisting of Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti (Director KGP, Chairman), Prof. Sriman Bhattacharya (Deputy Director KGP, Member), Prof. Siddhartha Mukhopadhyay (Dean AA&IR KGP, Convener) , Mr. Pradip Payne (Registrar KGP, Member), Prof. N L Mitra (External Member), Prof. T K Ghoshal (External Member), Mr. Mayank Jalan (External Member), Mr. Sandipan Chakravortty (Alumnus, Member),  Mr. Arjun Malhotra (Alumnus, Member), Mr. Vinod Gupta (Alumnus, Member), Mr. Mayank Srivastava (VP-Technology Student Gymkhana KGP, Student Member)  and will be presented to the donors through our annual report. The Founding Endowment Batches would be given the privilege to name a classroom with names of all the generous contributors firmly engraved. It is our way to help our donors leave their legacy behind. The batches and the contributors would be remembered by all the batches of technocrats passing out from IIT KGP.

Successful Giving Back Batches are 1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, 1975, 1984, 1991 & 1993 who have raised Rs.50 lakhs plus. Batches from different genres like 62, 63, 65, 67, 69, 74, 79, 87, 88, 89, 90 and 97 to name a few are very actively contributing.

How to give

Class Champions

Contact your class champions before you give. The '96 batch alumni have identified two champions each in the US and India:

In India: Suvojit Sinha (suvosinha@gmail.com, +919663385413) Soumitra Ghosh (soumitra.ghosh.iit@gmail.com)

In USA: Om Arora (oarora@gmail.com)  Mithuna Thottethodi (mithuna@gmail.com)

The champions will (i) guide their fellow batchmates to transfer money into IIT Foundation or AAIR office as appropriate, and (ii) interface with IIT Foundation and AAIR Office to help track the money, and ensure that it is transferred to IITKGP for the targeted project(s).   They will also ensure that the targeted budget is achieved for each project. Once the funds have reached IITKGP and budget has been met, IITKGP will take up the execution of the project following usual rules for works/ procurement. Alumni champions (and others as designated by the group) will be invited to review the progress of the projects, and periodic account statement will be shared.
