The campaign aims to raise funds for projects related to Student Wellness at IIT Kharagpur

 

 

Project Group I: Facilities for Physically Challenged Persons (PwD / Divyang)

Project Group II: Students’ Wellness and Counselling Services

Project Group III: Pan-IIT Resilience Consortium

I.a. Sports Facility 

Requirements: Special Infrastructure and Equipment, Trained specialists, Sports Kiosks with digital and manual games

Budget: Rs. 10 Lakh

Project Timeline: 1 Year

II.a. Financial Assistance for Rehabilitation and Recovery Program

Requirements: Financial support for travel and on-campus stay by parent or equivalent caregiver,  mental health services not covered by insurance, support for loss of employment, Mitra Coordinator for supervised care

Budget: Rs. 10 Lakh

I.  PAN-IIT Resilience Consortium

Requirements: Organizing Events, Sharing of experience and best practices, Inviting Deans, Faculty, counselors, student leaders from various IITs, experts.  Travel and hospitality, dissemination.

Budget: Rs. 10 Lakh

 

I.b Inter-IIT Sports Meet 

Requirements: Travel, accommodation, supplies, equipment, honoraria.

Budget: Rs. 10 Lakh 

Project Timeline: 1 Year

 

II.b. Grassroots Gatekeeper Program

Requirements: Training, expert visits, outreach coordinator, creative content generation, dissemination, meditation space, meeting space. Alumni / Dept. Senior Mentorship Program for students with academic challenges, reward-based program.

Budget: Rs. 10 Lakh

 

I.c. Transportation Facility

Requirements: Assistive Vehicle for transport from Halls to Nalanda, and transport within Nalanda.  Opportunities for Toto type service on the floors of Nalanda could be explored.  Opportunities for specially retrofitted vehicles for movement of students across the campus for attending classes. These activities could be outsourced to local transport operators. 

Budget: Rs. 10 Lakh

I.d. Integration and Outreach

Requirement: Workshops and Outreach Programs, buddies, scribes, physical therapists, hearing aids, visual aids. Special A-V Facilities for partial disabilities in hearing and vision (blurred). Assigning Buddies for students with partial disabilities in hearing and vision for classroom teaching assistance through a reward based program.

Budget: Rs. 10 Lakh

How to give

 

Before you give

The alum or the group need to identify a champion each in the US and India. 

 

These champion(s) will (i) guide fellow alumni to transfer money into IIT Foundation or AAIR office as appropriate, and (ii) interface with IIT Foundation and AAIR Office to help track the money, and ensure that it is transferred to IITKGP for the targeted project(s). He will also ensure that the targeted budget is achieved for each project. Once the funds have reached IITKGP and budget has been met, IITKGP will take up the execution of the project following usual rules for works/ procurement. Alum champion will be invited to review the progress of the projects, and periodic account statement will be shared.

Tax Exemption: 

Donations to IIT Kharagpur are 100% Income Tax Exempt under section 80G in India. The Institute shall provide a tax certificate both in soft and hard copies. For US residents/citizens, IIT Foundation USA is an IRS 501(c) Organization for tax purposes.
