100% Placement & Double Digit Growth in  Salary - That's the story of Vinod Gupta School of Management
Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM), IIT Kharagpur, established in the year 1993 is the first B-School in the IIT system. VGSoM’s magnificent growth is substantiated by this year’s placement figures. The final placements of the batch of 2015-16 attained new heights by surpassing the previous year’s records. The average CTC of the batch rose sharply by 14.18% as compared to the previous year’s average CTC. With an average CTC of 14.01 LPA and a highest CTC of 21.17 LPA, VGSoM had a remarkable placement season achieving 100% placements. The Batch of 2014–16 had 102 students which is almost double the strength of the previous batch, and despite that, 100% placement was achieved with 98% of the students being placed in the first phase of placements. There were a number of dream offers made this season and the PPI/PPO conversion was also close to 90%.
Apart from reinforcing its relationships with past recruiters, VGSoM also managed to forge relationships with several new recruiters.  Prominent among the companies to have participated in the process are Amazon, Google, Accenture Strategy, Tata Motors, National Instruments, Titan Company Ltd., Deloitte, PWC, IBM, Virtusa, Cognizant Business Consulting, Rolls Royce, ZS Associates, McKinsey Solutions, Oracle, Wipro, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Inspirage, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd and Juspay to name a few. Niche profiles were offered across domains and functions such as Senior Business Consultant, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Strategy & Operations, Supply Chain Consulting, Program Manager, Manager- Sales & Marketing, Manager- Strategy & Planning, Financial Analyst, Account Manager, Purchasing Manager, Technology Consultant and Supply Chain Consultant.

The summer placements is another important aspect in B-schools. VGSoM wrapped the summer placements for the batch of 2015-17 with flying colours. The batch of 2015-17 is a good mix of 83 students from diverse engineering backgrounds. As many as 24 companies visited the campus for the first time. The average compensation has also seen an increase of 30%. A total of 97 offers were made to the batch. With an average stipend of Rs.76,880, a highest domestic stipend of Rs.1,50,000 and a highest international stipend of Rs.5,00,000, VGSoM posted an astounding summer placement season for the batch 2015-17. It was the first time that international summer internship was offered at VGSoM. Prominent among the companies to have participated in the process are Accenture, BCG, Titan Company Ltd., National Instruments, Nomura, Wipro, PWC, Maersk Line, McCain, Myntra.com, ABP, Spencer’s, BlueStar, Tiger Analytics, IBM, Capgemini, Crisil, Siemens, Polaris, BenQ and Bharat Petroleum to name a few.
