Claim your classroom in the Nalanda Complex


Alumni from all batches donate for their respective batches so that they can have a classroom in the Nalanda complex dedicated to their batch once they reach a minimum target of INR 50 lakh. Batch Leaders are identified who networks and encourages batch mates to promote the campaign. The 1991 Batch was the first one to raise more than INR 60 lakh and got a classroom named after them in FY 2012-13. In the recent FY 2018-19, the 1969, 1994 Batch has emerged the Founding Endowment Batch by raising more than INR 50 lakh. They inaugurated their classroom at the Annual Alumni Meet in 2019.

So far, the Batches of 1991, 1970, 1968, 1975, 1984, 1966, 1967, 1993, 1969, 1994 and 1997 have become Founding Endowment Batches (chronologically).

The Batches of 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1974, 1976, 1979, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1998 are actively connecting with each other to become the next Founding Endowment Batch.

IIT-KGP has always been the source of enlightenment and inspiration to thousands of youth for more than six decades. It was the dream of independent India to take the quality of its higher education to world class standard and IIT-KGP has successfully achieved it. However, in this new era, the challenge is bigger. With more institutions including IITs coming up, need for greater professionalism at every stage of management and innovations driven research has become very important in educational institutions.

The utilisation of the endowment fund will be controlled by the members of IIT KGP Endowment Committee consisting of Prof. Sriman Kumar Bhattacharyya (Director [Officiating] KGP, Chairman), Prof. Sriman Bhattacharya (Deputy Director KGP, Member), Prof. Subrata Chattopadhyay (Dean AA&IR KGP, Convener) , Prof. B.N. Singh (Registrar KGP, Member), Prof. N L Mitra (External Member), Prof. T K Ghoshal (External Member), Mr. Mayank Jalan (External Member), Mr. Sandipan Chakravortty (Alumnus, Member),  Mr. Arjun Malhotra (Alumnus, Member), Mr. Vinod Gupta (Alumnus, Member), Mr. Ninad (VP-Technology Student Gymkhana KGP, Student Member)  and will be presented to the donors through our annual report. The Founding Endowment Batches would be given the privilege to name a classroom with names of all the generous contributors firmly engraved. It is our way to help our donors leave their legacy behind. The batches and the contributors would be remembered by all the batches of technocrats passing out from IIT KGP.
